Founder, Only (super)Human Applied Learning Technologies
A builder, trainer, facilitator and coach who bridges China and Silicon Valley.
Alex Weber is the Founder of Only (super)Human Applied Learning Technologies, and a builder, trainer, facilitator and coach based in California. He is a member of the Shell LEAD faculty network where he and Julia Feng got to know each other through leadership training work.
Alex lived in China for about 18 years, 14 in Beijing and 4 in Shanghai. He first went to study Chinese and fell in love with the country, and he did most of his coaching and facilitation work in Mandarin. After returning to California he spent two and a half years with an AI company in Silicon Valley, building tools in highly regulated environments that processed more than 2.5 million conversations and were downloaded more than 100,000 times. He is now back in the training world, working with partners in the US and China on learning, talent and AI enablement, and offering free AI enablement sessions to high school and university students.
On The Adaptive Edge, Alex shared a story he is still living: moving from feeling that he did not fit anywhere to seeing that he can be a bridge between people and places. He talked about reading emotions as feedback, using his values as a North Star, and building only when it creates value for someone else. His advice is to treat emotions as information about your values, your needs and your purpose, not as something to switch off at work.
